Letter: Drag presentation not appropriate for this community

| August 27, 2021 1:00 AM

We have been longstanding supporters of the Moses Lake Museum and Art Center. Their historical presentations and local speakers have been excellent. However, with Aug. 27 plans to bring a drag king to enlighten us on the history of drag culture and why it is so important to us, we cease to support them.

We will not back any group that encourages our youth to question their gender. If they truly have a genetic deviation, which is exceedingly rare (0.01%), they deserve compassion and the best of medical care.

We are a small community with strong family values, which we cherish and do not want to lose.

Beware, parents, of sending your children to “Nerd Alert” at the museum on Aug. 27, 2021. You might get more than you bargained for.
