EPHRATA — Grant County PUD commissioners are seeking letters of interest and resumes from people to fill an open commission position, which must be appointed by Nov. 6 per state law.

The appointee will fill out the remainder of the term of the late Dale Walker, which expires in December 2022, according to a Wednesday PUD press release.

Walker, 75, died of complications from lung cancer Aug. 9.

Commissioners typically attend two business meetings each month and other workshops and meetings, as necessary, the press release said. A more detailed list of commissioner responsibilities is available in the governance policy on the PUD website under “commission meetings.”

Qualified applicants must be registered voters and live in PUD Commission District 2, which is in the southeastern portion of the county. That includes a section of Moses Lake, the town of Warden and the surrounding area. People who want to find out if they live in the district can use the interactive map at www.grantpud.org/commissioners.

Letters and resumes will be accepted until 5 p.m. Sept. 10, and can be mailed to Grant County PUD, P.O. Box 878, Ephrata, WA, 98823, or emailed to commissioners@grantpud.org.

Applicants should provide a list of qualifications, relevant experience, pertinent education, and their reasons for applying for the PUD commission position. People who want more information can contact the PUD at 509-793-1457.
