Fire at Moses Lake offices causes closures

Some offices at the Moses Lake’s Civic Center at 401 S. Balsam St. were to remain closed until Monday due to fumes from an electrical fire Friday morning, according to a city news update.

The Moses Lake Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Department, Moses Lake Police Department, Planning, Accounting and Engineering divisions, and Utilities were included in the closure. But utility billing staff were still available at 509-764-3715 or 509-764-3719.

The fire caused power outages and employees were sent home Friday until power was restored.

The Grant County PUD isolated an underground fault and made repairs.
