Juanita Marie Ottmar

December 28, 1931 – August 15 2021

Juanita passed away Aug. 15, 2021, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease and diabetes.

Juanita was born Dec. 28, 1931, in Ellensburg. She attended high school in Kittitas where she excelled in choir. She married Harley Ottmar on May 23, 1953, in Ellensburg at the First Christian Church.

Juanita was a very active member in sports; she played on the city’s baseball and bowling teams as well as participating for years in a bowling league. She loved being a Bluebird leader and was an active member in her church. She also was a coordinator for the Moses Lake Classic Car Club for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clarance and Lillian Brown and by her sister Alice Reinhart.

Juanita is survived by her husband of 68 years Harley; daughter Brenda; sister Shirley Gannon; three grandsons Richard Miller and his wife Amanda, Aaron Miller and his wife Amy, and Nick Mahaney; and four great-grandsons Kristopher, Kurtis, Dillan, and Owen.

Juanita loved cooking, dancing, tending to her roses and taking care of the family. She always sacrificed her needs for the good of the family. She will be remembered as a loving and supportive wife, mother and grandmother who always kept the cookie drawer full.

A graveside service will be held at Pioneer Memorial Cemetery in Moses Lake on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021, at 10 a.m. for family and friends.
