Sharon Kay Close

March 19, 1950 – July 21, 2021

Sharon Close, 71, of Malo, passed away peacefully at her home on July 21, 2021. Sharon was born March 19, 1950, in Polson, Montana, to Barbara and Bernard Brandt. She grew up in Montana and Washington and graduated from high school in Othello in 1958.

She married the love of her life, Richard Close, on Dec. 22, 1974. They raised five children together.

Sharon worked in the medical records department in the Moses Lake hospital before moving to Ferry County. Friends and family fondly remember her peanut butter pie and world-class peach cobbler.

She is survived by her loving husband Richard; children Kenneth Close of Spokane, Chris Allen of Spokane, Michelle Willis of Moses Lake, Tammy Ryckman of Moses Lake and Tamara Fanning of Lathrop, California; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church of Republic and will be missed by her many friends there.

A memorial service will be held on a date to be announced.
