Gary R. Engh

Gary R. Engh, 74, of Spokane Valley, Washington, passed away July 11, 2021.
Gary was born to Leroy and Twilia Engh on Aug. 27, 1946, in Tacoma, Washington. The family settled in Moses Lake, Washington, where they raised their family. In 1965, at 19 years old, Gary joined the United States Army and was sent to Vietnam. After receiving an honorable discharge in 1968, Gary re-joined his parents and siblings in Spokane, Washington, where he met the love of his life, Diane. After a two-year courtship, the couple was married in Warden, Washington, on Dec. 5, 1970, and settled in Moses Lake, Washington, where they had two children, Richard and Tanya.
Gary truly enjoyed carpentry work and spent several years until retirement working for Grant County Housing. After retirement, Gary and Diane relocated back to the Spokane Valley area to be closer to their children. Building homes was just one of his passions of life; he also enjoyed family camping trips, hunting and fishing with friends.
Gary was well known in his community for his kind heart and helpful nature. He would help anyone in need. He had an easy-going, funny personality and loved to make people laugh with his funny stories and jokes.
Gary is survived by his wife Diane of 51 years, daughter Tanya Ward-Engh of Spokane and his son Richard Engh of Spokane, brothers Dennis Engh of Otis Orchards and Don Engh of Moses Lake, sisters Linda Neher of Spokane and Diane Eickerman of Chewelah Washington, granddaughter Alyssa Ward of Spokane and grandson Dylan Engh of Spokane, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceeded in death by his parents Leroy and Twilia Engh of Spokane and his brother Ronnie Engh of Spokane.
