More information released on rollover in Adams County
The identity of the woman who died Sunday afternoon in a single-vehicle rollover collision on Interstate 90, about 7 miles east of Ritzville in Adams County, was Stacy K. Pickering, 34, of Moses Lake.
She died at the scene, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Pickering was a passenger in a silver 2001 Ford Windstar, driven by Donald R. Burgeis, 36, of Moses Lake. He may be charged with vehicular homicide if the WSP files the charge with prosecutors and they pursue it.
Burgeis was driving the van just before 4 p.m. west on I-90 when the van left the road, entered the median and he tried reentering it onto the freeway, but it tripped and rolled, the WSP stated.
Burgeis was taken to East Adams Rural Hospital in Ritzville for his injuries. A 12-year-old boy and 9-month-old girl, both of Moses Lake, were not injured. All four people wore seat belts.
The van was totaled. The cause of the collision was speeding, the WSP said.
