| August 13, 2021 1:00 AM

May 4, 1956 – July 31, 2021

Wayne Gerald Crothers was born May 4, 1956, in Omak, Washington, to Jerry and Barbara Crothers. Wayne passed away suddenly on July 31, 2021, in Walla Walla, Washington.

Wayne grew up in Moses Lake after moving with his family in 1961. He attended schools in the Moses Lake Public School District, spending his younger years at Midway Elementary School, moving onward to Frontier Junior High and finishing up at Moses Lake High School, graduating in the Class of 1974. He spent many hours on the baseball field involved in Little League and played some sports in school.

Directly after graduation, Wayne entered the U.S. Army and finished his service about 12 years later. Some of his duties sent him to Georgia, Korea, Alaska and Colorado, ending at Fort Lewis in Washington state. He enjoyed being able to explore different places, seeing and trying new things. Upon completion of his service commitment, he came back to Moses Lake and worked as a mechanic for a time.

About 20 years ago, a maintenance technician job became available; he jumped at the opportunity, and it took him to Weston, Oregon. Wayne loved where he lived and what it brought to him. He enjoyed his yearly hunting trips into the hills. He was always busy with his hobbies, including photography, rebuilding computers and hunting, to name a few. He was very comfortable behind the barbecue, and was quite good at it. He enjoyed being “Uncle Wayne” when his nephew and nieces were young.

Wayne is survived by siblings Rhonda of Kent, Washington, and Steve and Brian, both of Moses Lake, WA; one nephew Nathan (Adrienne) of Moses Lake, Washington; two nieces, Lindsey of Moses Lake, Washington and Allison (Martin) of Centralia, Washington; and great-grandnephews Camden, Dayton and Skylar, all hanging with their parents in Moses Lake. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Barbara Crothers.

There will be no services.
