Mattawa prepares car show

MATTAWA — The Port of Mattawa will host the Show and Shine Car Show on Aug. 28 at Wahluke High School’s west parking lot.

Arrivals will begin at 7 a.m. The show will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and awards will be announced at 4 p.m., according to a press release.

The car show will be held in conjunction with Wahluke Community Day, featuring events including a 5K run, parade, sports tournaments, food, vendors and entertainment.

Sponsorships for the car show are available. Proceeds will go toward a new public park, Sentinel Gap Community Park. The park will be owned and operated by the Port of Mattawa and located just west of the port’s office.
