Details released for Othello School District superintendent contract

OTHELLO — Interim Othello School District Superintendent Pete Perez will receive $8,946 for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year in addition to his salary as assistant superintendent.

Perez will receive a base salary of $182,500 for the 2021-22 school year. Othello School Board members hired Perez as the interim superintendent April 2 and approved two contracts, one for the rest of the current school year and one for next year.

Perez was the assistant superintendent for teaching and learning, and will continue in that job through the end of the school year.

The one-year interim superintendent contract goes into effect July 1. Perez will be eligible for some incentive compensation, up to 5% of the base salary. Perez also is eligible for compensation of continuing education expenses, as well as dues for some professional organizations. He’s granted 12 days sick leave and 30 days vacation.
