| April 12, 2021 1:00 AM

June 14, 1962 – December 14, 2020

With deep sorrow we announce the passing of Brent William Reese of Fort Worth, Texas. He was a long-time resident of Moses Lake (49 years) and had moved to Fort Worth last year in 2020. He lost his courageous fight of nearly seven years with ALS on Dec. 14, 2020. He was 58 years old.

Brent was born in Sylmar, California, on June 14, 1962, to William H. Reese Jr. and Betty L. Reese. He spent his first nine years in California being spoiled by his elder sisters, Cherie Annette Reese and Jeanette L. Moore. He joined little league at 8 years old.

On Feb. 9, 1971, the Sylmar Earthquake struck and the Reeses lost their home. In August, they moved to Moses Lake, Washington, where Brent’s grandparents lived, settling in Cascade Valley right on the lake. They all learned to water ski and enjoyed their boat. In winter the family ice skated on the frozen lake, joined 4-H and raised three sheep for the annual county fair. Brent’s sheep earned a blue ribbon.

Brent excelled in water sports and became a proficient in the slalom as he grew older.

Brent graduated from Moses Lake High in 1980. He joined the U.S. Air Force. As a fuels specialist, he also fueled the Blue Angels’ jets and served a year at Incirlik, Turkey. He returned to Moses Lake and as he sprinted off the plane at the airport, he literally leaned down and kissed the ground.

He loved Moses Lake, his boat and skiing, time at Lake Roosevelt, karaoke singing, keeping fit by working out and his beloved Seattle Seahawks. He attended every game while he was mobile and never missed a game on TV.

He married Michelle Close, the mom of a 3-year-old daughter, Ashley. Later Brent and Michelle had a baby boy and named him Jeremy Brent, and so their family was complete.

Brent worked for 33 years at Moses Lake Industries and then retired in 2018.

In 2013, Brent married Orpha Gern (O.G.). She was a wonderful and devoted caregiver and wife until his death.

Brent is survived by his mother Betty L. Reese-Webb of Green Valley, Arizona; two sisters Cherie Annette Reese of Seattle and Jeanette L. Moore of Soap Lake; son Jeremy B. Reese of Moses Lake; three grandchildren Jaxon, Kamryn and S Knox Reese and their mom Lindsey Reese; wife Orpha Gern (O.G.) Reese and her two daughters of Fort Worth, Texas; stepmom Sybil Reese and stepbrother Scott Nichols.

Brent is lovingly missed by his aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends.

He is also missed by his stepdaughter Ashley Close and family.

A celebration of life will be held on May 1, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Lake City Foursquare Church, 333 N. Central Drive, Moses Lake, Washington.
