City of Mattawa to host cleanup events

MATTAWA – The city of Mattawa will hold two trash collection events during April.

The first event will be for Mattawa residents only, Friday and Saturday, April 16 and 17, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the water tower, 710 First St. Items being accepted include yard waste, appliances such as microwaves, ovens, washers and dryers, and furniture.

A utility bill or valid identification with Mattawa address is required to participate. City residents are allowed two dumps per residence.

The second event will take place April 23 and 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 24378 Broadway Ave., Mattawa, at the Grant County Road District shop, one block from the flea market.

This location will accept old tires, with or without rims, including passenger and light truck tires. A maximum of 12 tires per household will be accepted. A utility bill or state issued ID with address is required.
