Grant County Fire District 7 responded to a church fire at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in Soap Lake.
The fire started in the kitchen of the House of Prayer Slavic Baptist Church at 315 Fifth Ave. SE, said Grant County Fire District 7 Chief Kirk Sheppard. As it’s still early in the investigation, the official cause is unknown.
Fire District 13 provided mutual aid.
The building is a total loss, but no one was injured. It took more than three hours to put out, Sheppard said. Crews left the scene around 8:45 p.m.
All of the volunteer firefighters did a great job, he added.
