Three Sunnyside residents were injured when the white 2003 Honda Accord they were in rolled just before 11:43 p.m. Saturday on state Route 243 at milepost two, east of Priest Rapids in Grant County.
A 13-year-old boy apparently fell asleep at the wheel, according to the Washington State Patrol. The passengers were Sergio Ramirez Escalona, 31, and Juan Ramirez Hidalgo, 21. Hidalgo was the only one not wearing a seatbelt. All three were taken to Trios Health in Kennewick for injuries. The Honda was totaled.
The cause was apparently inexperience and fatigue and the WSP may file charges against the boy.
