Quincy sets cleanup day

QUINCY — The city of Quincy will hold Fall Clean-Up Day on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the city yard next to the Quincy Public Services Building, located on First Avenue Southwest between Division Street West and B Street Southwest.

Materials that will be accepted include household refuse and scrap metal. Appliances will also be accepted for a $10 fee. Items that will not be accepted include tires, batteries, oil, pesticides, paint, fuel tanks, roofing materials, propane tanks and car parts.

The cleanup event is open to residents of the city only. Proof of residency, such as a utility bill or receipt, will be required. The event will be open until all bins are full or 3 p.m. For more information, call the city of Quincy at 509-787-4131.
