Correction: Native American Lawmaker-Team Name story

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — In a story September 22, 2020, about legislation to remove Native-themed mascots and team names at public schools in Washington state, The Associated Press erroneously reported that Democratic state Rep. Debra Lekanoff was the first Native American woman elected to the state House of Representatives. Former Democratic state Rep. Lois Stratton of the Spokane Tribe served in the House from 1980-1984.
