NATIONAL SUMMARY

Tropical Rainstorm Beta will cause a steady rain in much of

Virginia and the Carolinas tomorrow. Farther south,

thunderstorms could rumble across Georgia and Florida. The

next system will deliver a soaking rain to western

Washington and northwestern Oregon, with showers spreading

into eastern Washington and northern Idaho during the

afternoon. Some rain is also forecast across northern

Minnesota, possibly spreading into northwestern Wisconsin

later in the day. The rest of the nation is expected to be

dry, including the Southwest where fire danger will continue

to be high. The Desert Southwest will also remain hot, with

temperatures in some locations exceeding the century mark

once again.
