Wall Street opening higher led by big gain for Nike
New York (AP) — Stocks are rising on Wall Street Wednesday, adding to the day-earlier gains ahead of a second day of testimony by the Fed chairman. Nike rose more than 10% after it reported soaring online sales of its sneakers and workout clothes. Rival Under Armour is also up, rising 7%. Tesla fell 5% after the battery breakthroughs that Musk unveiled Tuesday didn’t impress. Investors cast a wary eye on the coronavirus pandemic’s effect on the economic outlook after the Fed chairman urged Congress to provide fresh stimulus for the U.S. economy. Stocks also rose in London, Paris, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
