The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, September 23, 2020
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Much of the Great Lakes region and East will remain dry and
sunny tomorrow, with temperatures trending upward from the
cool first half of the week. Beta is forecast to meander
right along the southeastern Texas coast or just offshore.
Heavy, flooding downpours will continue from southeastern
Texas through Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi. Coastal
flooding and rough surf will keep pounding the upper Texas
and Louisiana coastlines, along with gusty winds. A few
showers may dampen the northern Plains as a press of cooler
air clashes with warmth over the Midwest. As warm and dry
conditions persist for most of the West, a potent storm
system is forecast to arrive along the Northwest coast.
Heavy rainfall from the storm is likely to douse many of the
wildfires across this part of the country.
