MOSES LAKE — Grant County residents may dispose of household hazardous waste for free on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Grant County Road District No. 2 shop. The shop is located at 12171 Road 3 NE (Wheeler Road) near Moses Lake.

To minimize the risk of transmitting COVID-19, Grant County Solid Waste asks residents not to attend if they have: shortness of breath, fever, chills, headache, muscle pain, sore throat, or loss of smell or taste. To maintain social distancing, all waste must be placed in the car trunk or truck bed. All participants will be required to remain in their vehicles. Employees who approach participant vehicles will wear masks and maintain social distancing.

Hazardous products have labels with words such as warning, danger, caustic, flammable and poison. These chemicals should be disposed of through hazardous waste collection opportunities, not in the garbage, down the drain, or on the ground, according to a press release.

For more information, call Grant County Solid Waste at 754-6082.
