The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, September 22, 2020

_____

NATIONAL SUMMARY

Tropical Storm Beta is expected to meander along the Texas

coastline tomorrow. Locally damaging winds can occur near

the center of the storm, while an expansive area of heavy

rain expands across the South Central states, leading to

flash flooding. Coastal flooding and rough surf will remain

concerns along the west-central Gulf Coast as Beta

continues to churn up the waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

High pressure is forecast to remain in control across the

East, allowing for another sunny day with temperatures

slightly lower than normal. Warm air will expand across the

North Central states with continued dry weather. Outside of

stray showers across the high terrain of Colorado and Utah

and over western Washington, the West can expect a dry day.
