The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, September 16, 2020

_____

NATIONAL SUMMARY

Hurricane Sally will crawl inland across Mississippi and

Alabama tomorrow. Heavy rain that can produce significant

and life-threatening flash flooding is expected, along with

damaging winds and coastal flooding. Dry weather will

encompass a large corridor from the Southwest states

through the Midwest and into the Northeast. Sunshine may be

shrouded at times in these areas due to extensive wildfire

smoke in the West billowing eastward across the nation. A

storm system skirting through southeastern Canada may spark a

few showers across the upper Great Lakes. Cooler air will

move into the northern Plains as heat persists out West.

Spotty showers may dampen the Northwest coast and offer some

relief from wildfires and smoke.
