MOSES LAKE — Qualifying businesses and community organizations in Moses Lake that suffered losses due to the COVID-19 outbreak are being encouraged to apply for grants being awarded by the city of Moses Lake. Funding for the grants comes through the federal CARES Act.

Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce director Debbie Doran-Martinez said $50,000 is available to qualifying businesses. The maximum for each individual grant is $5,000. The chamber is accepting the grant applications on the city’s behalf.

Businesses must be located within the Moses Lake city limits, have a maximum of the equivalent of 10 full time employees and be able to prove the business was adversely affected by the restrictions placed on businesses to fight the outbreak.

Applications must be submitted by Sept. 30. People who want more information can call 509-765-7888 or access the application on the chamber’s website, www.moseslake.com.
