Coronavirus: 86 cases over the weekend

MOSES LAKE — There were 86 new cases of the coronavirus confirmed in Grant County over the weekend, including 22 cases in Moses Lake, 17 in the Mattawa area, 15 in Royal City, 14 in the Quincy area, eight in Ephrata, six in rural Grant County near Othello, five in Warden and two in Soap Lake, according to Grant County Health District.

State officials reported Saturday that 129 local residents have been hospitalized with COVID-19 since the pandemic began, while 18 are currently hospitalized, according to the health district.

The county’s rate of infection, high compared to other counties, has plateaued and begun to decline in recent weeks, according to local health officials.
