NATIONAL SUMMARY

Strong thunderstorms capable of producing flash flooding,

large hail and damaging winds will develop late tomorrow

afternoon in eastern South Dakota, western Minnesota and

western Iowa. These storms will expand in coverage and move

farther east overnight. Elsewhere, a spotty thunderstorm

could rumble across central and eastern Texas. The central

and southern Florida Peninsula, coastal North and South

Carolina and southern Louisiana are expected to have a

spotty thunderstorm during the afternoon hours. The balance

of the nation should be dry. Otherwise, searing heat is

forecast to expand in the West and record highs will be

possible. The continuation of dry conditions will enhance

the risk of new wildfires.
