Moses Lake Chamber accepting grant applications
MOSES LAKE — Businesses and community organizations in Moses Lake will have another chance to apply for grants to help cover losses due to COVID-19-related closures.
The Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for Rapid Response Grants, part of the package of coronavirus relief funding passed by Congress in April, on behalf of the city, which has $50,000 in total funding available.
“Businesses that had significant losses due to COVID-19 are encouraged to apply. We want to see all our communities’ businesses survive this unexpected pandemic,” Debbie Doran-Martinez, president and CEO of Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce, said in a press release.
The maximum grant size is $5,000. Businesses or non-profit community organizations must have 10 or fewer full-time employees and must have suffered a loss of at least 25 percent as a result of Gov. Jay Inslee’s closure orders in March.
The grants can cover rent, wages and the costs of complying with COVID-related reopening rules.
In addition, businesses must be located within the Moses Lake city limits, have a current business license and not be delinquent on any taxes or fees to the city.
