The Nation's Weather
The Nation's Weather for Thursday, October 29, 2020
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Zeta will race northeastward over the Appalachians and off
the mid-Atlantic coast tomorrow. Zeta will link up with
another weather system that has been spinning for days over
the southern Plains, which will lead to an expansive area of
soaking rainfall from the central Plains to southeastern New
England. Flash flooding can occur along this swath, and
there may be enough cold air across interior portions of the
Northeast for precipitation to mix with or changeover to
snow late in the day and at night. Thunderstorms are
forecast to rumble across the southern Atlantic Seaboard on
the southern side of Zeta's circulation, with a continued
risk of an isolated tornado or two. Chilly air will grip the
North Central states as the West has a dry day with
seasonable temperatures.
