State grants available for non-profits
OLYMPIA — The Washington State Department of Commerce has announced that it will provide $2 million in relief grants to qualifying non-profits hard hit by the COVID-19 pandemic and related closures.
The grants, which are being administered in partnership with Philanthropy Northwest, will focus on providing assistance to organizations “led by and serving communities of color,” according to a Commerce Department press release.
Funding for the grants will come from some of the assistance Congress provided to Washington under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act passed in April.
Organizations must be registered as 501(c)(3) not-for-profits with the Internal Revenue Service in order to qualify. For more information and an application, check online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/62SK6RK.
