UPDATES with BRITAIN-STOLEN VASE, VATICAN CIVIL UNIONS. REMOVES BOOK REVIEW-THE LIFE OF MALCOLM X

TV-WOMEN REMAKING AMERICA — A PBS documentary airing next week details the power women are exerting on issues ranging from equal rights to Black Lives Matter to the environment. By TV Writer Lynn Elber. SENT: 790 words, photos.

TV-CHELSEA HANDLER — Chelsea Handler is vulnerable in her new standup special, “Evolution,” out Friday on HBO Max. Handler touches on topics such as her pursuit of therapy, why her messages are directed toward white women, and how the tragic death of her brother has defined much of her life. By Gary Gerard Hamilton. SENT: 750 words, photos and video.

VATICAN CIVIL UNIONS — The world premiere of a documentary on Pope Francis was supposed to have been a bright spot for a papacy locked down by pandemic and besieged by a corruption scandal. But the red carpet rollout of “Francesco” has been anything but bright. There’s evidence that the Vatican censored the pope last year by deleting his endorsement of same-sex civil unions from an interview, only to have the footage resurface in the documentary. By Nicole Winfield. SENT: 1184, photos.

BRITAIN-STOLEN VASE — British police say they have recovered a 15th-century Chinese vase valued at 2.5 million pounds ($3.3 million) that was stolen in Switzerland last year. The Metropolitan Police force said Friday that they have arrested two men over the theft of the Ming dynasty vase. SENT: 170 words, photo.

BERKLEE PRESIDENT — The Berklee College of Music has chosen Erica Muhl to serve as the Boston school’s next president, making her the first woman to lead the institution in its 75-year history. Muhl, a composer and conductor, previously led music and arts schools at the University of Southern California. SENT: 198 words.
