Capitals hire Laviolette's longtime assistant Kevin McCarthy
ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) — Kevin McCarthy joined Peter Laviolette's Washington Capitals coaching staff Wednesday, an expected move continuing the pair's partnership that has lasted for more than 15 years.
