Marion Kayoko Enokizono, 77, passed away Oct. 13, 2020, at home with family by her side.

She was born May 14, 1943 at Fort Lupton, Colorado during World War II to Kaoru and Yoshiko Watanabe. She was the second oldest of four children. After the war, her family returned to San Jose, California, area where she became a cosmetologist. In 1974, she married Makoto Enokizono and moved to Moses Lake, Washington, and raised a family.

Marion graduated from Central Washington University in Ellensburg and remained at home to raise her two children, Micheal and Elizabeth. She resumed her career as a teacher specializing in English as a second language and special education, as well as attending Gonzaga University and completing her Master’s degree in education. She taught in Warden, Ephrata, Metaline Falls and Moses Lake school districts. Upon retiring, she volunteered with the Moses Lake literacy council and Washington state long-term care ombudsman. She was an avid reader and would partake of many genres of literature, her favorite being science fiction. She also enjoyed crafting, traveling, baking, sewing, stamping, movie marathons and watching boxing.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. She is survived by her husband Makoto, brother Gene (Harumi) Watanabe, son Micheal (JP) and daughter Elizabeth.

We would like to thank the caregivers and hospice for the care given to her during the last few months of her life. Due to COVID-19 restrictions with limited seating, a funeral service will be held at a later date. She will be truly missed by all who knew her. She will be laid to rest at Pioneer Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Moses Lake.
