Seattle officer burned by thrown piece of burning lumber

SEATTLE (AP) — Authorities say a Seattle Police officer was burned after a man threw a burning piece of lumber inside the officer’s cruiser.

KOMO reports the officer was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment for non-life-threatening burns.

The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Police said the officer’s cruiser was parked in an alley while searching for a suspected who was brandishing a burning piece of wood.

It was not immediately clear what charges the suspect would face.
