Stocks edge higher on Wall Street as earnings news flows in
NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks are pulling slightly higher in the early going on Wall Street as investors pore over another batch of earnings reports from big U.S. companies. The S&P 500 added 0.2% in the first few minutes of trading Wednesday. A loss in the index a day earlier broke a four-day winning streak. Goldman Sachs rose after turning in solid results, but rival banks Wells Fargo and Bank of America fell after releasing their quarterly results. Concho Resources soared following a report that ConocoPhillips was in talks to acquire it. Treasury yields were lower. European markets were slighlty higher and crude oil prices rose.
