People For People to make route changes
Starting Monday, Oct. 12, People For People will be making changes to two bus routes.
Route 102, which runs between Othello and the Tri-Cities, will be adding a second trip each day, according to Rosenda Henley, mobility manager and travel trainer for People For People. The added trip will start in Moses Lake at 10:30 a.m.
“It will give passengers more opportunities and more options,” Henley said. “It gives them the ability to come back sooner.”
The return trip being added collects passengers in the Tri-Cities between 11:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. before heading back to Adams County.
Henley said that some people have hesitated to ride the bus from Othello to the Tri-Cities because of how long they would have to be in the area.
“They hesitated to go because they would have to be there all day,” she said.
Adding stops in Moses Lake and Warden also allows those wishing to take the bus to the Tri-Cities who don’t have the ability to get to Othello the opportunity to still use the service. Anyone riding the bus from Moses Lake or Warden will be dropped off at Warden on the return trip where they can connect with a Grant Transit Authority bus.
Also starting on Oct. 12, Route 104, which is the Othello Connector, will have some modifications made to three stops. The Coventry House and Othello Community Hospital stops will become request stops instead of scheduled stops. Buses will no longer stop on Andes Road, instead stopping at Taggares Park.
All bus routes are open to the general public and are fare-free. Masks are required.
