The Nation's Weather for Friday, October 2, 2020
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A steady rain is expected to fall during the afternoon hours
in coastal New England tomorrow. Elsewhere in New England,
occasional rain and drizzle can occur at any time. Showers
will continue to pester the Great Lakes, with even a few
snowflakes possible early in the day in the Upper Peninsula
of Michigan. Thunderstorms will rumble across the far
southern part of the Florida Peninsula and in the Keys. A
few spotty, light showers may dampen the western and central
Dakotas. The balance of the nation is expected to be dry.
The lack of rain with extreme heat in the West will continue
to be detriment to the firefighting efforts. Temperatures in
portions of the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys will
surpass the century mark while some of the hottest desert
locations eclipse 110 F.
