NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms will continue tomorrow across coastal
Louisiana and move northeastward into Mississippi, Alabama
and the Florida Panhandle, bringing torrential downpours,
damaging wind gusts and even an isolated tornado to the Gulf
Coast. Rain and showers will occur to the north of these
thunderstorms, spreading to southern Missouri and eastward
to the Atlantic coast. Some afternoon snow will fall around
Lake Superior and into Canada, accumulating no more than an
inch south of the nation's border. Scattered showers will
dot northwestern Washington. The nation is expected to be
dry elsewhere, with winds gusting across the Plains from a
cold front bringing cooler air to the region. The
mid-Atlantic, in contrast, will be turning warmer behind a
warm front.
