One injured, Stratford Road closed after shooting

Stratford Road north of Moses Lake was closed near the intersection of Harris Road on Sunday night while the Grant County Sheriff’s Office investigated a drive-by shooting in which at least one person was injured.

Officers were dispatched shortly after 3:30 p.m. for a report of of multiple suspects driving in the area that had shot at another car, said Kyle Foreman, public information officer for the GCSO. Neither the victim vehicle or suspect vehicle were in the area when officers arrived, Foreman added, though law enforcement did find evidence of a shooting.

One male victim was dropped off at Samaritan Hospital, but was then flown to an out-of-area hospital due to the severity of his injuries, Foreman added.

Traffic was rerouted in the area of Stratford and Harris roads starting just before 5 p.m. while deputies conducted their investigation.
