Grant County Health District officials confirmed Thursday they are aware of an Ephrata event held at a home on Saturday, referred to by organizers as “Ephrata Covid Homecoming 2020,” which had approximately 50-100 attendees.

“We were notified prior to the event taking place and reached out to the organizer asking them not to hold the event,” Stephanie Shopbell, environmental health manager for the health district wrote in an email. “We are monitoring for cases that may result from the event.”

Shopbell added there are no known COVID-19 cases tied to the event, but with an incubation period of up to 14 days, there may be future cases traced back to the event.

“We recommend anyone who attended get tested 5-7 days after the event and especially if they develop symptoms of COVID-19,” Shopbell wrote.
