WARDEN — Ausencio “Cinco” Delgado has been named the interim principal at Warden High School.

Warden School Board members voted to appoint Delgado as the interim principal during the regular board meeting Nov. 12. Board members had accepted the resignation of former principal Chris Lupo during a special meeting Nov. 9.

Lupo resigned for health reasons, according to an announcement. Lupo started teaching in Warden in 1994, spent two years as principal at Royal Middle School, and then seven years in Moses Lake as principal at Frontier Middle School. He was named the principal of Warden High School just three months ago in late August.

Prior to taking the job, Delgado, 48, was a Wahluke High School English and journalism teacher.
