Small plane crashes near Langley on Whidbey Island

LANGLEY, Wash. (AP) — A small plane crashed Wednesday morning on Whidbey Island southeast of Langley, officials with South Whidbey Fire said.

Officials with South Whidbey Fire say the plane went down just west of the runway at the Whidbey Airpark. It hit the ground and ended up in a patch of woods nearby.

News outlets report it wasn’t immediately known how many people were in the plane or the extent of their injuries. The cause of the crash is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board.
