NATIONAL SUMMARY
A storm system poised to move into the East tomorrow will
put an end to the stretch of dry, tranquil weather. A swath
of rain is forecast to stretch from portions of Alabama and
Georgia, northeastward into upstate New York. Locally heavy
downpours and thunderstorms are possible in the mid-Atlantic
as tropical moisture streams in from the Atlantic Ocean. Eta
will track northward across the eastern Gulf of Mexico with
its outer bands possibly brushing the west coast of Florida.
Regardless, rough surf is likely across the region. Dry
weather is expected to encompass the Central states as
cooler air sweeps into the Mississippi and Ohio valleys.
Temperatures will remain below average across the Western
states with scattered snow showers lingering across the
interior Northwest.
