NATIONAL SUMMARY

A storm in the West will spread colder air with rain and

mountain snow into Oregon, Northern California and northern

Idaho tomorrow. Meanwhile, a stiff wind from the Atlantic

will create rough seas and showers from coastal North

Carolina southward to the east coast of Florida. More

numerous showers and thunderstorms will soak South Florida.

Elsewhere, plenty of sunshine is expected from New Jersey to

Illinois. Much of the nation excluding the Northwest and

South Florida will experience above-normal temperatures.

Unseasonable warmth will bake the Desert Southwest, and

record-high temperatures are possible. In the tropics, Eta

will begin to emerge from Central America into the western

Caribbean Sea.
