QUINCY — Quincy families came out in force for the trick-or-treat drive-thru held Halloween afternoon.

“We had this huge trunk-or-treat event,” said Catalina Blancas, executive assistant for the Quincy Valley Chamber of Commerce. The chamber sponsored the event, working with Quincy businesses and community organizations, as well as extracurricular clubs from Quincy High School.

Businesses and organizations set up shop in the parking lot at the Quincy Valley Business and Conference Center, some wearing costumes. The people distributing the candy and parents were encouraged to wear masks.

The chamber had prepared for about 1,000 kids, but the trunk-or-treat drew so many families that the organizers ran out of candy, Blancas said.
