NATIONAL SUMMARY

Showers and thunderstorms will linger across much of the

southeastern United states tomorrow as a cold front advances

to the Atlantic coast. A few heavier thunderstorms are

possible in the afternoon for Florida's Space coast. Farther

north, showers will pester the Northeast as cooler air

rushes into the region. A storm system will continue to

bring periods of much-needed rain from the Pacific Northwest

southward to Northern California. A few strong thunderstorms

capable of producing hail and gusty winds will fire up east

of the Cascades later in the day. Warm conditions will

persist across the Rockies. Summerlike heat will continue to

bake portions of the Desert Southwest.
