A story about the global coronavirus pandemic as experienced by children will move at 12:01 a.m. ET Wednesday, May 27.

Associated Press reporters around the world asked kids about living with the virus and to use art to show us what they believe the future might hold. Some sketched or painted, while others sang, danced ballet, built with LEGOs. There is sadness and boredom, and a lot of worrying. Some children feel safe and protected. Others are scared. And yet, many also find joy in play, and even silliness.

The package, “Virus Outbreak-Through Kids’ Eyes”, includes a vignettes-style text story, photos and portraits of the children, drawings by the children, and video. The story can be used in whole or in parts, with photos matching each vignette.

The children are from South Africa, the U.S., Russia, Rwanda, Colombia, Cuba, Jordan, Italy, Australia, Ukraine, India and Canada.
