EPHRATA — Boat launches at parks operated by Grant County PUD will open for use at noon May 8.

All PUD recreation facilities were closed as part of the PUD’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Boat launches will open, but most other recreation facilities will stay closed.

Campgrounds at all PUD recreation sites remain closed, according to a utility district press release.

The boat launch and parking lots will be the only areas open at Crescent Bar. Only day-use facilities will be open for use at all other PUD recreation sites.

The Wanapum Dam Visitors Center and Wanapum Heritage Center will remain closed.

A limited number of restrooms will be available.

Utility district employees will be monitoring the sites to ensure people using them are following the rules designed to reduce the possibility of spreading the coronavirus.

People are asked to maintain the six-foot social distancing rule and bring water, soap and hand sanitizer. Boaters and other people using the parks are asked to take their garbage with them.
