MOSES LAKE — Organizers of the Moses Lake Spring Festival have announced its cancellation for 2020.

People who had registered for events will receive a refund, President Sean Sallis stated on social media.

The festival was scheduled for Memorial Day weekend, May 22 through 24, but was among the many activities with the potential to be affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. Most of the restrictions imposed by Gov. Jay Inslee, he announced May 1, including the prohibition on large gatherings, would remain in place through May 31.

Organizers had announced country singer Chris Janson would perform in concert May 24. That concert has been rescheduled to May 30, 2021.

For 2020 the festival’s board of directors is looking at sponsoring other activities that fit within Inslee’s order, such as an online lip sync contest and a drive-in movie.
