The Nation's Weather for Thursday, March 19, 2020

_____

NATIONAL SUMMARY

It will be damp and cool across much of the Northeast

tomorrow. A multi-faceted storm system will trigger severe

thunderstorms from parts of the Midwest to the South Central

states. The strongest storms will be capable of producing

damaging winds, flooding downpours, large hail and even some

tornadoes. The greatest risk for tornadoes is anticipated to

be across southern Iowa and northern Illinois. Farther

north, a blizzard will unfold from the Front Range of the

Rockies to the north-central Plains. The combination of

howling winds and heavy snow could create dangerous travel

conditions and white-out conditions in spots. Elsewhere,

record-challenging warmth will build across the Southeast

and southern parts of the mid-Atlantic, while unseasonably

cold air chills the West and northern Plains.
