Letter: Nobody’s perfect, but we try to do right

| March 12, 2020 12:17 AM

“Trump is no worse than his accusers.” Really? We recognize that all of us are imperfect. That said,

We have kept our marriage vow for all 46 years.

We treat our fellow Americans with respect.

We honor the troops, living and dead.

We support the rule of law.

We believe in God, the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

We value the freedom of the press and media.

We expect our government to treat all equally and fairly.

We respect those who serve the common good, like doctors and nurses, librarians and teachers, firefighters and police officers and all other local, state and federal workers.

We appreciate those who tirelessly protect us from harm, domestic and foreign.

We donate to charity, assist families in times of need and help the vulnerable among us.

We uphold the truth and salute those who do likewise.

While we always strive to do what is right and true — as do our friends and neighbors — we recognize that some people do not. We ask God to pity them, for they know not the damage they do to themselves and to others.
