Harold R. Goldsmith
February 6, 1928 – February 26, 2020
Harold R. Goldsmith passed away peacefully in Spokane, Washington on Feb. 26, 2020. Our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather was born in Wapato, Washington on February 6, 1928, to Rollo and Eva Goldsmith. Harold lived, worked and raised a family in Moses Lake for the past 60-plus years, and in his 92 years he had the incredible reputation of being the man to always help. Upon moving to Moses Lake, he still worked and maintained the family pear orchard in the Union Gap, Washington area. He also worked at the U&I Sugar Factory until it ceased operation, where he met so many a friend. After the factory closed, he then became a full-time park operator at Airman’s Beach (now Connelly Park) for 27 years, and did other caretaking throughout the city.
Harold is now with his beloved wife Dorothy Goldsmith and both are watching over us. Harold was married to Dorothy Goldsmith for over 60 years as well, and she preceded him in death in 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents and sisters. Harold is survived by his three children Pam McBroom of Medical Lake, Washington, Kami Snowden of Cheney, Washington and Tim Goldsmith of Moses Lake, Washington; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will take place Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at Pioneer Memorial Gardens in Moses Lake at 1 p.m. There will be a no-host gathering post-graveside at The Rock Top Burgers and Brew, 930 N. Stratford Road in Moses Lake. Please bring your stories and memories to share.
